The preparations to the 2015 European Games in Baku enter in the decisive phase. On Friday, 16 January 2015, the Baku European Games Operational Committee (BEGOC) issued letters to the European NOCs notifying them that qualification for the shooting competitions had concluded and also informing them of the number of Quota Places preliminarily allocated to each NOC.The allocation is called “preliminary” because, first of all, the NOCs have to confirm in writing whether they accept or not all the Quota Places offered and following this the unused Quota Places will be reallocated by the ESC.
Many of the ESC Member Federations have already applied for additional Quota Places and when available these Quota Places will be reallocated by the ESC. For this reason it is very important that before taking a decision on accepting or not all the preliminary allocated Quota Places, the Member Federations have a clear understanding of how those Quota Places can be used.
The provisions of the approved Qualification System (can be found here) are very precise. Here are some of them:
The deadline for the NOCs to send back the Preliminary Quota Places Confirmation Form is 6 February 2015.
