Pavlo Korostylov through the difficulties to World Record in 25m Standard Pistol Men

The wind didn’t disturb the pistol shooters so badly as the 300m rifle shooters, but they had also exciting moments with wind anyway. The 25m Standard Pistol Champion Ukrainian Pavlo Korostylov won and shot a new World and European Record which is now 581. He won the silver medallist German Christian Reitz (574)with seven points. The bronze medal winner was Russian Alexei Klimov(573).

“I was nearly getting fool with wind. It was ever so difficult for me. I can’t yet understand that I made a new World Record in this weather. Perhaps the wind pushed me to concentrate to the right and basic issues”, told the new Record holder and smiled.

In the team competition Ukraine dominated strongly and won the European title with superior result 1719. France won silver with result of 1676 and silver medal travelled to Russia with result of 1675.

 

In the 25m Standard Pistol Men Junior the best was also Pavlo Krepostniak from Ukraine. He beat Russian Daniil Shikhov with seven points difference. Bronze medal winner was yesterday’s 25m Pistol gold medallist Ernests Erbs from Latvia. In the team competition the gold medal winner was Russian Federation with 1671 result. Russia beat Ukraine (1668) with three points. The bronze medals travelled to Germany (1663).

Russian team consisted of Daniil Shikhov (565), Alexander Petrov (554) and Egor Ismakov (552).
